Baptized In The Boons UH

Well this week was a pretty good one, we had a baptism! It doesn't count for our numbers because L (the lady we baptized) had her records removed years ago. But anyone can be converted, even if they've already been baptized! She said this time around it felt real and she truly wanted to. She felt rushed last time and she also felt that no one cared, but the people in the Cowlitz Falls ward have shown her a lot of love it's a great ward!

I also had the opportunity to speak in Sacrament meeting yesterday and that was very interesting. Bishop asked me to essentially teach Lesson 2 in Preach My Gospel  (The Plan of Salvation) for 10 minutes. I had A LOT of practice doing that in Lakewood so it was nice to not really have to prepare my talk haha.

We had interviews with our President and it was great to see him, I used to see him at least once a week in Lakewood and I didn't realize how much I'd miss him! He's got such a loving spirit about him and I love talking to him.

We have Zone Conference this week so that will be fun! Keep making good choices everyone!

Life in Morton

Hey everyone! Things are really awesome over here!

There's really not a whole lot going on, I've been getting pretty close with some members of the Cowlitz Falls ward. One in particular is Brother C. Along with his name he's a way cool guy, he's a gunsmith and his caretaker is a recent convert and we help them out most nights moving firewood into their house. He told me he'll smith me a gun for really cheap so I guess we will see about that. All the members are super nice, but he is my favorite. He has his share of health issues but he is the jolliest guy you'll ever meet!

We also had an experience where we had to walk a girl who was on meth home but that is just way too long of a story.

We had our ward Christmas party and Elder Muñoz and I went decked out with Christmas ties, Santa hats, and light up necklaces! It was sweet!

Don't forget to light the world this Christmas season!

Love y'all!

The Refiner's Fire

Well folks, I am being put through the phase of my mission known as "the refiner's fire." Essentially that means I started off in a great, baptizing area and now I'm in a less baptizing area.

Members of my new ward, the Cowlitz Falls ward, tell me "You're this early in the mission and they already sent you to outer darkness??" It really is out in the middle of nowhere, the nearest Walmart is 45 minutes away! There's no streetlights out here so I'm getting a lot of good use out of my flashlight!

In an average 5-7 knocking sessions we will knock a good 6 houses. We can't really knock after 7 like we could in the city, people will get real mad so we work with members a lot. Our area consists of a bunch of small towns and our ward building is located in Morton. My companion, Elder M, is a great guy, he's actually a Spanish Elder.

We live in a members basement on a chicken farm! The member's wife doesn't speak English so we teach her every now and then, more like Elder M teaches and I watch haha.

We have cows living on the property with us so that's pretty cool haha!

I love you guys!!!
