Hey everyone!
This week has been really interesting! I'm enjoying my time with my new companion Elder Rose! He's a hard worker and a really cool guy! We had a bunch of office elder stuff to do this week, but craziness started on Friday.
To kick things off we got chased by a dog for the first time, which was pretty hilarious. Then Elder Rose's hand almost got bit off by a different dog haha. We joked about having to make a trip to the ER, but little did we know we'd end up there that night. We got a call from Elder Pabalinas, who is training Elder O'Dell, and they are in a bike area. He told us O'Dell crashed his bike and probably needed stitches so we went to go grab them and take them to the ER. We called the mission nurse, Sister K, and she wasn't available, so we pulled out the big guns. We called Sister Leishman. She told us where to go and her and President came to see how he was doing. They left around 11. We got to the ER at 9 and they didn't even get us into a room until 1 AM. They didn't work on his eyebrow until 5 AM, so we got out of there at 6 AM with no sleep. Nonetheless, we went on a McDonald's run where we got a call from Sister Leishman giving us the OK to go home and sleep. That night was a whole lot more fun than you think.
That Saturday we went on exchanges with our Zone Leaders Elders Jenks and Angell and their companions Saddler and Mose. I knocked 5-7s with Angell and Mose, when we came to a house that had a vicious-sounding dog and we heard a little girl's voice say "I'll get it" so we knew she wasn't going to be able to hold back that big dog. So we made our way to their gate when a pit bull came darting out and passed up Mose and Angell and chased me down the sidewalk. They said I ran faster than anyone they've ever seen, they were legitimately impressed. They said my form was perfect too, call it adrenaline. But yes, twice in 2 days I got chased by a dog.
Yesterday we had a "Why I believe" fireside which is where recent converts share their conversion stories and us missionaries sing as a choir. It was an awesome time!
After this week Elder Rose and I have named ourselves the "WA-TAC First Responders"
Love you all!
